How to Implement

To secure GCP Cloud SQL from public internet access, adhere to the following steps within the GCP Cloud Console:

Before you Begin

  • Ensure that you possess the requisite permissions to modify Cloud SQL instance settings.

  • Log in to Sprinto as an administrator.

Protection Implementation

  1. Log in to the GCP Cloud Console using your credentials.

  2. Navigate to the left-hand menu and select SQL.

  3. Choose the relevant Cloud SQL instance prompting the check failure and click on Edit.

  4. Select Connections from the left-hand menu and go to the Networking tab.

  5. Enter a network name and define an IP range with access to the instance. Be specific with IP ranges, avoiding open access from all networks (0.0.0.0/0).

  6. Click Save.

After completing the above steps, Sprinto fetches the configuration changes and sets the GCP Cloud SQL to be protected from direct internet traffic check status to "Passing."
