The above Sprinto check fails against any staff member who has offboarded the organization but still has active access to the critical systems configured under the Access section. You can find the pending checks on the task dashboard.

Purpose

The purpose of the check is to ensure that any inactive user access is revoked from the critical access, ensuring enhanced system security. Sprinto’s staff offboarding workflow highlights the critical systems that need access revocation for the staff member and starts failing the above Sprinto check.

How to fix

Do the following steps to fix the Spritno check:

  1. Navigate to pending checks:

    1. Log in to the Sprinto admin portal with your credentials, and navigate to the task dashboard.

    2. Scroll down to the Access-related tasks, and select the pending check on which you wish to take action. You can find the check titled “{service name} access should be removed for offboarded user.”

  2. Revoke the user’s access:

    1. From the check details page, click Fix it next to the user whose check is in the failing status.

    2. Log in to the critical system account with your credentials and revoke the user’s access. Ensure you have admin access to the critical system to do this. For detailed instructions, refer to the guides below on revoking users’ access.

  1. Once access is revoked, Sprinto retrieves the changes and updates the check status to “Passing.”

Workaround

For any reason, if you are not able to revoke offboarded staff member access from the critical system, you can take any of the following actions:

  • Mark check as special case: You can mark the pending Sprinto check as a special case by adding the reason and relevant supporting file (optional). You can mark the check as a special case for a specific time period or permanently. Refer to Mark check as a special case for detailed instructions.

  • Upload evidence externally: Upload the evidence manually against the pending Sprinto check to pass them.
