Create and manage AI Actions

AI Actions are the building blocks of AI Playground. They let you bring AI into your compliance workflows - customized for your GRC program. This page explains how to create new actions and manage existing ones.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure that:

• You have an active Sprinto account.

• Role permissions:

  • Sprinto Admins can create, edit, deploy, and pause AI Actions.

  • Sprinto Editors (applicable for Advanced and Enterprise plan) with 'AI Playground' access can also create, edit, deploy, and pause AI Actions.

Create a new AI action

1. Log in to the Sprinto dashboard, select AI Playground from the left navigation. The page shows Sprinto-defined actions and your custom actions.

   
2. Select Create action in the top-right corner. A drawer opens where you can describe the action you want.

   
3. Enter a short description of the task. For example, “Generate fix plan for Penetration Test with time and cost implications, outlining priority of vulnerabilities, remediation timelines (critical fixes in 2-4 weeks, medium/low in 8-12 weeks), estimated costs ($30K-$45K), and follow-up validation steps.”

   
4. Choose how to configure the action:

   • Configure with AI (Recommended): Using the description provided, Sprinto AI automatically sets up the entire AI Action for you. You can further edit and customize it as needed.

   • Configure manually: If you wish to configure AI Action manually, you could click on 'I'll configure myself'.

5. If you choose Configure with AI, Sprinto automatically sets up the action, providing a detailed and structured instruction. You can review and edit it as needed.

   
6. If you configure manually, you'll have to enter the following details:

   • Name: Enter a descriptive name for the action.

   • Entity type: Select the type of record the action applies to (for example, Policy, Risk, Vendor).

   • Description: Enter a one-line description for your team to understand what the AI Action is about.

   • Action type: By default, display results will be selected. Ability to update and create fields will be available soon.

   • Instructions: Enter specific guidance for the AI to follow. This is the core prompt which Sprinto AI uses to complete your action.

7. To deploy the action instantly, keep 'Deploy this action on save' checked. To save without deploying, uncheck it.

   
8. If you chose not to deploy action on save, by default the action will be disabled and you could choose to enable it anytime.

   

Manage AI Actions

Custom Actions

Enabling or Disabling AI Actions

Custom AI Actions can be enabled or disabled as needed. This flexibility allows you to manage AI behavior according to your organization's requirements.

Editing AI Actions

You can update the name, description, and instructions for a Custom AI Action. However, please note that once an action is deployed, its entity type cannot be modified. Ensure you choose the correct entity type during the initial setup to avoid any limitations.

Sprinto-defined Actions

Enabling or Disabling AI Actions

For Sprinto-defined AI Actions, you have the capability to enable or disable these actions according to your project needs. Unlike custom actions, these predefined actions come with certain restrictions.

Editing Restrictions

It's important to keep in mind that the name, entity type, description, and instructions for Sprinto-defined AI Actions cannot be edited. This restriction is in place to maintain consistency and integrity of the predefined processes. Therefore, when using Sprinto-defined actions, ensure they meet your project needs before deployment.
