Create Staff and Organisational Data
Learn how to create staff records, import groups, add custom fields, and set up org charts and background verification systems in Sprinto.
Use the Create actions within the Configuration tab of the People section to add new staff, groups, organisational details, and verification systems. This sets the foundation for compliance workflows in Sprinto.
1. Add Staff
You can add staff through integrated HRMS/IDP providers or manually.
To add staff via HRMS or IDP:
Go to People > Configuration.
Under Staff information providers, click Add Staff.

Click Add staff from HRMS or identity providers.
Choose the provider (For example, Google Workspace, Office365, Okta, GreytHR and so on).
Select the provider of your choice and follow the onscreen prompts to sync data.

To add staff manually:
Go to Add Staff.
Click Add staff manually.

You can:
Add an individual staff member
Add Staff in bulk via CSV.

To add a single staff member, select Add individual staff member.
Enter the required details.
Click Add staff member.

Add member is bulk, select Add staff in bulk via CSV.
Download the bulk upload template.
Fill in the required details and upload the CSV file.
Click Add Users.

2. Create Staff Groups (via Import)
When you integrate a provider, staff groups are auto-imported. You can manage or expand them as needed.
To import staff groups:
In the Automate staff scoping using groups section, click View.
Click + Add more groups or Add provider.
Choose a provider and complete the connection.
3. Create Custom Fields
Use custom fields to capture additional metadata for your staff records.
To create a custom field:
Scroll to the Custom Fields section.
Click + Create.
Enter:
Field name (e.g. Location)
Field type (Dropdown, Text, Date and so on)
Description
Applicable to (e.g. Staff)
Click Create to save the field.
4. Add an Org Chart
You can create or configure your org chart in two ways.
Option A: Sync from Sprinto
In the Org chart section, click Manage.
Select Using reporting manager information (default).
This pulls manager data from synced staff records.
Option B: Upload an Org Chart
Click Manage > Periodically upload an org chart.
Set your upload frequency (e.g. every 12 months).
Upload your org chart file as evidence.
Accepted formats:
.doc
,.pdf
,.xlsx
,.zip
, and so on.
Click Finish.
5. Add Background Verification System
Add BGV providers to automate staff verification checks.
To add a BGV system:
Scroll to the Background verifications section and click Manage.
Click + Add background verification system.
Choose from available providers (e.g. Checkr, Certn, Spring Verify).
Authenticate and connect the system.
