# Notifications

The **Notifications** section, located under **Settings**, allows you to configure how and when Sprinto sends alerts for tasks, billing events, and key activities across your account. From here, you can select notification channels, adjust frequency, preview and customise email templates, and manage recipients for different notification types.

Properly configuring notifications ensures that relevant stakeholders receive timely updates, helping your organisation stay on top of compliance tasks, subscription events, and operational changes.

### Accessing the Notifications section

1. Sign in to the Sprinto dashboard.
2. In the left navigation menu, select **Settings**.
3. Select **Notifications**.

<figure><img src="/files/biJag4jzHOvr74u3f3Wc" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The page displays the following categories:

* **Notification channels** – Configure where notifications are sent (Email, Slack).
* **Task notifications for admins** – Manage alerts for due, critical, and failing tasks assigned to admins.
* **Task notifications for staff members** – Manage alerts for tasks assigned to staff.
* **Billing and subscription** – Manage recipients for subscription and payment notifications.
* **General notifications** – Enable or disable email notifications for key Sprinto modules such as Trust Center, Security Questionnaires, Vendors, Integrations, Audits, and Staff Onboarding.

### Dashboard actions

#### Slack notifications and approvals

Once Slack notifications are enabled, Sprinto sends real-time alerts to your configured Slack workspace whenever an action requires attention. This allows administrators to stay informed without continuously monitoring the Sprinto dashboard.

For approval-based workflows, such as external access requests from the Trust Center, admins can review request details and **approve or reject them directly from Slack**. Any action taken in Slack is automatically synced back to Sprinto, where the request status is updated and recorded.

By handling approvals within Slack, teams can respond faster, reduce context switching, and ensure that security-critical requests are actioned promptly.

#### Configure notification channels

1. In **Notification channels**, select **Configure**.

#### Best practices

* Connect Slack for real-time task updates alongside email.
* Regularly review recipients for billing notifications to ensure only authorised individuals receive payment information.
* Customise email templates to align with your organisation’s tone and clarity requirements.
* Keep general notifications enabled for modules critical to your compliance programme.

### Set up a custom email domain

Configure a custom email domain to send Sprinto notifications from your organisation’s domain instead of the default Sprinto email domain. This helps improve brand consistency and email trustworthiness for recipients.

When you configure a custom email domain, Sprinto generates DNS records that must be added to your domain provider. These records verify domain ownership and enable secure email delivery for notifications sent from Sprinto.

Once the DNS records are verified, Sprinto uses your configured domain for notification emails.

#### Set up a custom email domain

1. Sign in to the Sprinto dashboard.
2. Go to **Settings** → **Notifications**.
3. In **Custom email domain**, select **Setup**.

<figure><img src="/files/OQMhFLITbaikpqvCv8JK" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

4. In the **Setup Custom Domain** drawer, enter your domain name.

{% hint style="info" %}

#### Note

Enter the domain without `www` or `https`.
{% endhint %}

5. Select **Setup Domain**.

<figure><img src="/files/fhVCm2w4mpSESrLyusbt" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

6. Sprinto generates the required DNS records for domain verification.
7. Copy the DNS records and add them to your domain provider’s DNS settings.

   The generated records may include:

   * DKIM records (Required)
   * DMARC records (Recommended)
   * Mail From records (Optional)
8. After adding the records, wait for DNS verification to complete. Verification may take up to 72 hours depending on your DNS provider.
9. Once verification is complete, the custom email domain status is updated successfully in Sprinto.

<figure><img src="/files/HzjByCK5zco0RBUoYmJF" alt="" width="316"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}

#### Note

If the DNS records are not verified yet, Sprinto displays the domain status as **Pending verification** until all required records are detected successfully.
{% endhint %}
