Create and Manage Checks

Learn how to create workflow-based compliance checks, add templates, and manage automated monitors in Sprinto's Monitoring dashboard.

Sprinto allows you to set up both workflow-based and automated checks from the Monitoring page. While automated checks are enabled via integrations, workflow checks can be created manually using templates, custom configurations, or bulk uploads.

These checks form the backbone of Sprinto’s continuous compliance monitoring. You can assign owners, define run frequencies, and track task statuses — all from a central interface.

Access the Monitoring section

1. Log in to the Sprinto Dashboard and navigate to Monitoring.

2. You’ll see an overview of:

   • Active/Available checks

   • Passing checks

   • Failing or critical checks

   • Task-level status counts (e.g. Due, Critical, Failing)

Add a monitoring check

1. Click Add checks.

2. In the drawer, choose one of the following options:

   • Add from template – Use pre-configured checks mapped to compliance frameworks.

   • Single workflow check – Create a custom check manually.

   • Bulk upload workflow checks – Upload a spreadsheet containing multiple checks.

Add from template

1. Click Add from template.

2. In the left pane, select a category (e.g. People, Infrastructure, Privacy).

3. Review the suggested checks and their mapped frameworks.

1. Select one or more checks and select a zone in the Zone Details section.

2. Click Add check.

Templates include predefined frequency, task responsibility, and mapping logic. You can customise them after adding.

Create a single workflow check

1. Choose Single workflow check.

2. Fill in the following fields:

   • Check name and description

   • Instruction for assignee

   • Start date and recurrence frequency

   • Zone or team responsibility

   • Assignee and review requirement

3. Click Create check.

These checks appear in your Monitoring dashboard and are assigned as repeating tasks.

Bulk upload workflow checks

1. Click Bulk upload workflow checks.

2. Download the provided template (.xlsx format).

3. Fill in check details such as:

   • Name, description, frequency, zone, assigned owner

   • Optional: review requirement and start date

4. Upload the completed spreadsheet back to Sprinto.

5. Click Next.

   

Use this option when setting up dozens of checks during framework onboarding or internal rollout.

Best Practices

Assign Owners	Ensure each check has a clear owner for accountability.
Group by Area	Use Areas like People or Infra to organise checks.
Use Templates	Start with templates for faster setup and control coverage.
Avoid Duplicates	Use filters to ensure you aren’t duplicating existing checks.
Schedule Reviews	Align run frequencies with internal review cycles.
