# Monitoring

### Introduction

The **Monitoring** tab provides a real-time overview of all infrastructure-related compliance checks in Sprinto. It helps you identify failing or due checks, add new ones, and track task ownership and resolution across your integrated systems.

You can monitor both **automated system checks** and **evidence-based workflow checks** from this central view.

***

### Accessing the Monitoring Tab

1. Go to **Data Library → Infrastructure**.
2. Click on the **Monitoring** tab at the top.

You’ll land on the **Active Checks** view by default.

***

### Monitoring Views

<table data-header-hidden><thead><tr><th width="161.00390625"></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Tab</strong></td><td><strong>Description</strong></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Active Checks</strong></td><td>Displays all currently running system and workflow checks. Shows their statuses, owners, and last run dates.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Available Checks</strong></td><td>Displays checks that are not yet active or were manually disabled. You can activate or configure them.</td></tr></tbody></table>

### Key Features

#### Check Status Overview

* Get a summary count of:
  * Total checks
  * Passing
  * Due
  * Critical
  * Failing
  * Disabled

Use filters to drill down by:

* Infrastructure provider (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
* Assignee
* Status
* Area (e.g., Backup, Encryption)

***

#### Check Details and Resolution

Click on any check to:

* View description and instructions
* Check who owns it and when it runs
* Review past evidence or system data
* Upload new evidence (for workflow checks)
* Reassign the check or edit parameters

For system checks (e.g., “S3 bucket is not encrypted”), Sprinto automatically marks the check **Passing** when the misconfiguration is resolved in the provider platform.

***

#### Add Checks

From either tab, click **Add checks** to launch a drawer with options to:

* **Add from template** – Use prebuilt Sprinto checks
* **Add a single workflow check** – Manually create a check
* **Bulk upload workflow checks** – Use a spreadsheet to add multiple checks

(An option to create custom templates is coming soon.)

***

### Best Practices

* Review failing and due checks weekly to ensure timely resolution.
* Always assign check owners to avoid responsibility gaps.
* Enable evidence review for critical workflow checks.
* Use filters to monitor checks for specific providers or stakeholders.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.sprinto.com/data-library/infrastructure/dashboard-actions/monitoring.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
