# ADP Workforce Now Integration

ADP Workforce Now is a comprehensive human resource management system (HRMS) from ADP that provides features like Payroll processing, time and attendance tracking, benefits administration, etc. The tool helps streamline the HR processes and provides useful insights through analytics.

### How does this integration help Sprinto <a href="#how-does-this-integration-help-sprinto" id="how-does-this-integration-help-sprinto"></a>

The integration primarily helps Sprinto retrieve staff-related information such as name, email address, job roles, onboarding dates, reporting managers, etc. These details are crucial for managing compliance needs related to people management. Sprinto initiates relevant checks if any of the required information needs to be updated to ensure compliance framework requirements are met.

#### Sprinto checks for ADP Workforce Now <a href="#sprinto-checks-for-adp-workforce-now" id="sprinto-checks-for-adp-workforce-now"></a>

Here's a list of Sprinto checks available for ADP Workforce Now integration, along with reference procedures on how to fix them:

### Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

* Admin access to your ADP Workforce Now account.
* A service account assigned the **Practitioner** role.
* The required permissions under **Reports & Analytics → People**.
* An active service account profile added to **Security Management**.
* A user named **Sprinto Technology Inc** created in ADP Workforce Now and mapped to the service account.
* A paid Sprinto plan.

#### Important

Sprinto currently supports ADP Workforce Now integrations **only for accounts hosted outside Canada**. Due to limitations from our integration provider, ADP Workforce Now accounts based in Canada can’t be connected to Sprinto at this time.

If your organisation uses a Canadian ADP Workforce Now account, the integration won’t work even if all setup steps are completed. We recommend confirming your ADP account’s hosting region before starting the integration.
{% endhint %}

### Permissions and data

Sprinto requires the following access to connect with ADP Workforce Now:

* **Team:** Read Only
* **Group:** Read Only

* Employment Status
* Employment Type
* Role

The integration is **read-only**. Data is synced from ADP Workforce Now to Sprinto.

### Set up the integration

#### 1. Open the ADP Workforce Now integration

#### 5. Create a service account in ADP Workforce Now

The **Set up a Service Account** screen displays the credentials you need to create the service account.

Use these credentials when setting up the service account in ADP Workforce Now.

For detailed instructions, see [Merge's guide to creating an ADP Workforce Now service account using a Practitioner role](https://help.merge.dev/articles/6057766-adp-workforce-now-how-do-i-link-using-a-practitioner-role?utm_source=chatgpt.com).

Make sure that:

1. The service account has the **Practitioner** role.
2. The required permissions under **Reports & Analytics → People** are assigned.

<figure><img src="/files/2wOs6zDW8vW2vf9XwbJU" alt="" width="327"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Sprinto completes the setup and connects your ADP Workforce Now account.

### Post-connection flow

After the integration is connected, Sprinto starts syncing employee and employment data from ADP Workforce Now.

The integration:

* Syncs employee profiles, contact information, and email addresses.
* Syncs employment details, including status, job titles, and employment dates.
* Syncs departments and organisational groups.
* Uses the synced data to automate supported controls and checks.

The integration is **read-only**, so Sprinto only retrieves data from ADP Workforce Now and does not make changes to your ADP account.

The initial sync may take some time to complete. Once the data is available in Sprinto, you can use it across relevant compliance workflows.

### Authentication and APIs

The integration uses **OAuth 2.0 through Merge.dev**. Sprinto does not connect to ADP Workforce Now directly.

Merge.dev provides a unified HRIS API that Sprinto uses to retrieve ADP Workforce Now data.

<table><thead><tr><th width="316.01171875">API endpoint</th><th>Purpose</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><code>GET /api/hris/v1/employees</code></td><td>Syncs employee profiles, email addresses, and contact information</td></tr><tr><td><code>GET /api/hris/v1/groups</code></td><td>Syncs departments and organisational groups</td></tr><tr><td><code>GET /api/hris/v1/employments</code></td><td>Syncs employment status, job titles, and dates</td></tr><tr><td><code>GET /api/hris/v1/account-details</code></td><td>Validates connection health</td></tr></tbody></table>

### Troubleshooting

If the integration does not connect or data does not sync, check the following:

#### Sprinto Technology Inc user is missing

Make sure a user named **Sprinto Technology Inc** exists in ADP Workforce Now and is mapped to the service account.

#### Service account is inactive

Verify that the service account is active and correctly mapped.

#### Reports & Analytics permissions have changed

Check that the required permissions under **Reports & Analytics → People** are still assigned to the service account.

#### ADP Workforce Now Canada

ADP Workforce Now Canada is not supported by this integration.

### Next steps

Once ADP Workforce Now is connected, Sprinto can use the synced employee and employment data for compliance workflows.

To learn more about the controls and checks supported by the integration, see the relevant Sprinto documentation.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.sprinto.com/integrations/overview/adp-workforce-now-integration.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
