About:

The following procedure describes running an activated workflow check. You can find the activated workflow checks in “Due,” “Critical,” or “Failing” status.

Prerequisites:

  • Logged in on Sprinto as an administrator.

Procedure:

Step 1. Navigate to Security Hub > Workflow checks.

Step 2. Ensure that you are on the Active tab.

Step 3. Select the workflow check you want to run. All the workflow checks in “Due/Critical/Failing” status must be run.

Note: You can use the filters to find the workflow checks based on area, framework, status, and keyword.

Step 4. Do the following procedure to run the workflow check.

  1. On workflow check page, click on Upload evidence.

  2. On workflow check page, select the following option to upload evidence from your computer:

    Note: Refer to the “What is process” and “Steps to run the check” sections to learn more about the respective workflow check and its instructions.

    1. Select the evidence recording date.

    2. Select one of the following options to submit the evidence.

      • File: To upload the evidence files directly from your computer.

        Note: Ensure you upload the evidence file in the supported files format.

      • Link: Provide the evidence files link if stored in any cloud storage.

    3. Click on Finish.

Step 5. You can mark the workflow checks as a “special case” to exclude them from the compliance audit consideration. Do the following steps:

Note: You can mark a workflow check as a “special case” for reasons like workflow check is not relevant, managed outside of the Sprinto platform, etc.

  1. Select the workflow check you want to mark as a “Special case.”

  2. On the workflow check page, click on the details button.

  3. On check details page, click on Mark as special case.

  4. Fill in the following necessary details:

    1. Additional Notes: Briefly explain why the specific workflow check is marked as a special case.

    2. Select one of the expiry type options from the following:

      • Valid forever: Select this option to expire the select workflow check permanently.

      • Choose an expiry date: Select this option to set an expiry date for the selected workflow check. The check remains expired up to the selected date.

    3. If you select the expiry date, select the date.

    4. Click on Mark as Special Case.

Result:

On successfully running the workflow check, the respective workflow check status is set to “Passing.”

Note: You can manually trigger any workflow check in "Passing" status before the check gets activated automatically based on the defined check activation frequency. Manually triggering workflow checks is helpful when organizational changes need reporting before the next cycle of the check activation. Refer to how to trigger workflow check.
