# Frequently Asked Questions

This page answers common questions about Workflow Checks, their purpose, configuration, and management.

#### 01. What are Workflow Checks in Sprinto?

Workflow Checks are time-driven compliance tasks that require evidence submission at regular intervals. They differ from automated checks, which run continuously in the background.

#### 02. How do Workflow Checks differ from system or automated checks?

Workflow Checks activate on a schedule (for example, monthly or quarterly), and you must upload evidence to resolve them. Automated checks monitor integrated services in real time and do not require manual evidence uploads.

#### 03. Can I create Workflow Checks in bulk?

Yes. You can bulk upload Workflow Checks using Sprinto’s CSV template. This is useful for onboarding large sets of compliance tasks at once.

#### 04. What evidence can I provide for a Workflow Check?

You can either:

* Use built-in templates to record structured evidence, or
* Upload files and links manually (for example, reports, screenshots, or signed documents).

#### 05. What happens if a Workflow Check is not applicable to my organisation?

You can mark the check as a *Special Case*. This sets the check to *Passing* for the defined period while categorising it separately for audits.

#### 06. Can Workflow Checks be reviewed by someone other than the assigned owner?

Yes. You can assign reviewers to Workflow Checks. Reviewers validate submitted evidence and can approve, reject, or mark a check as a special case.

#### 07. What do the statuses ‘Due’, ‘Critical’, ‘Failing’, and ‘Passing’ mean?

* **Due** – the check is ready to be completed.
* **Critical** – the check deadline is approaching.
* **Failing** – the check has not been resolved in time.
* **Passing** – the check has been completed with valid evidence or marked as a special case.

#### 08. Can I disable or delete Workflow Checks?

Yes. You can disable a check to stop future activations while retaining its history. You can also permanently delete a check if it is no longer required.

#### 09. How are Workflow Checks linked to compliance frameworks?

Many Workflow Checks are mapped automatically when you enable frameworks such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001. You can also create custom checks for organisation-specific needs.

#### 10. Can evidence for Workflow Checks be automated?

Yes. Sprinto provides APIs to automate evidence uploads for certain Workflow Checks, reducing manual effort.
