# Configure AI Systems

The Configuration section in Sprinto helps administrators customise AI governance workflows across the AI Systems module.

You can configure:

* AI risk auto-scoring
* Risk thresholds and scoring levels
* AI system field ordering
* Custom fields
* Document request settings
* Request email templates
* Questionnaire integrations

These configurations help organisations align AI governance workflows with internal policies and compliance requirements.

## Navigate to Configuration

To access AI Systems configuration:

1. Log in to the Sprinto dashboard.
2. Navigate to **Data Library**.
3. Select **AI Systems**.
4. Open the **Configuration** tab.

The Configuration tab contains governance and workflow settings associated with AI Systems.

## AI System Risk Auto-scoring

The AI System Risk Auto-scoring section controls how Sprinto calculates AI system risk levels.

The section displays:

* Configured risk factors
* Risk scoring levels
* Risk thresholds
* Active scoring logic

This helps organisations standardise AI risk evaluations.

## Configure AI Risk Scoring

To configure AI risk scoring:

1. Navigate to the **AI System Risk Auto-scoring** section.
2. Click **Manage**.

## Configure Risk Factors

Risk factors determine how AI systems are evaluated during risk assessments.

You can:

* Enable or disable risk factors
* Mark risk factors as mandatory
* Edit scoring values
* Configure descriptions
* Add additional values
* Archive values

This helps organisations align risk scoring with internal governance policies.

## Edit Risk Factor Values

Each risk factor contains configurable values and associated scores.

To update a value:

1. Open the risk factor.
2. Edit the required value.
3. Update the score or description.
4. Click **Next**.

Sprinto updates the scoring configuration immediately.

## Add New Risk Values

To add a new scoring value:

1. Open the required risk factor.
2. Click **Add risk factor**.

3. Configure the value details.
4. Click **Add** to save the changes.

## Configure Mandatory Risk Factors

Some risk factors may be required during risk assessments.

To configure mandatory risk factors:

1. Open the required risk factor.
2. Enable or disable the mandatory checkbox.
3. Click **Next** to save the configuration.

Mandatory factors must be scored during AI risk assessments.

## Configure Risk Levels

Sprinto supports configurable AI risk levels and score thresholds.

Depending on your configuration, risk levels may include:

* No risk
* Low risk
* Medium risk
* High risk
* Critical risk

## Edit Risk Thresholds

To update risk thresholds:

1. Navigate to the risk levels section.
2. Click the **Edit** icon beside the required level.

3. Update the score range.
4. Click **Save changes**.

## AI System Field Ordering

The AI System Field Ordering section helps administrators customise the display order of AI system fields.

This helps organisations:

* Prioritise important governance metadata
* Improve form usability
* Standardise data capture workflows

## Reorder AI System Fields

To reorder fields:

1. Navigate to the **AI System Field Ordering** section.
2. Click **Manage**.

3. Drag and reorder the required fields.
4. Click **Save changes**.

The updated ordering appears across AI system forms.

## Configure Custom Fields

Sprinto supports organisation-specific AI governance metadata using custom fields.

The Configuration section provides quick access to custom field management.

### Manage Custom Fields

To manage custom fields:

1. Navigate to the **Custom fields available for AI systems** section.
2. Click **Manage**.

Sprinto redirects you to the [Custom Fields](/settings/custom-fields.md) section inside Settings.

## Supported Custom Field Types

Sprinto supports multiple custom field types, including:

* Text
* Text area
* Date
* Single-select
* Multi-select
* Number
* Percentage
* User fields
* Attachment fields

These fields can be used to capture organisation-specific governance information.

## Configure AI System Document Requests

The AI System Document Request section controls how document requests operate across AI governance workflows.

You can configure:

* Requestable documents
* Email templates
* Notification settings
* Questionnaire mappings

This helps organisations standardise governance evidence collection.

## Configure Requestable Documents

To configure requestable documents:

1. Navigate to the **Documents for AI systems** section.
2. Click **Manage**.

## Add Custom Document Types

To add a custom document type:

1. Enter the document name.
2. Click **Add**.
3. Click **Save changes**.

## Delete Document Types

To remove a document type:

1. Click the delete icon beside the document.
2. Click **Save changes**.

The document is removed from future request workflows.

## Configure Document Request Settings

Sprinto supports configurable request workflows for AI governance evidence collection.

To configure request settings:

1. Navigate to the **Document request configuration** section.
2. Click **Manage**.

* Recipients
* CC recipients
* Submission notifications

Document request templates support dynamic variables.

Examples may include:

These variables help personalise request emails automatically.

## Configure Questionnaire Integrations

Questionnaires can be linked directly to document request workflows.

This helps organisations:

* Standardise vendor assessments

## Save Configuration Changes

After updating the configuration:

1. Click **Save changes** or **Save and close**.
